Maribel Muoz was born February 23, 1968, in Zacatecas, Mexico to Sabas and Hermelinda (Orozco) Luna. She passed away early Tuesday morning, December 8, 2015, in Fullerton, California, at the young age of 47.
When she was only two years old, Maribel immigrated to the United States with her family. They lived in East Los Angeles, California, for a time, eventually settling in Whittier, California. Maribel grew up and went to school in Whittier, graduating from Pioneer High School in 1986.
Maribel married her true love, Isaias Muoz, March 15, 1986, at St. Alphonsus Church in Los Angeles, California. They bought their first home in Moreno Valley, California, but moved to back to Whittier (1995) where they raised their three children, Amaris, Matthew, and Jessica.
While Maribel greatly enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and traveling, her greatest pleasure in life was her family. She most enjoyed spending time with those she loved so much. She was a kind and loving woman whose love was infectious. She always put the needs of others ahead of her own; she was truly selfless.
Mrs. Muoz is survived by husband, Isaias; daughters, Amaris (Brandon) Chow and Jessica Muoz; son, Matthew Muoz; parents, Sabas and Hermelinda Luna; sisters, Rosalinda Luna, Veronica Pea, and Natalie Luna; brothers, Samuel and Isfrael Luna; and grandchildren, Brandon and Arianna Chow, and Cecilia Muoz.
Viewing will begin at 6pm on Friday, December 18, 2015, at St. Bruno Church, 15740 Citrustree Rd., in Whittier. A vigil will immediately follow at 7pm. Mass will be celebrated at 1pm the following day, also at St. Bruno Church.
