Maria Marquez Garcia

Maria Marquez Garcia was born March 31,1952, in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico, to Bernabe and Margarita (Hernandez) Marquez. She passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015, in Norwalk, California, at the age of 63.



Maria grew up and went to school in Mexico. She emigrated to the United States in 1982, settling in Los Angeles County. Within a few years of arriving in the US, Maria met and married Jesus Garcia. They were blessed with four children, Nancy, Maria Luz, Yesenia, and Jesus.



Though very humble and shy, Maria was a very sweet person whose door was always open to anyone. She had a beautiful and welcoming smile that made others comfortable from the moment they met her. Maria enjoyed walking, music and going to the beach. She loved her pets, but, above all, she loved her family. She will be remembered for her silly, easy-going personality.



Survivors include her four children, Nancy (Oscar) Garcia, Maria Luz Garcia, Yesenia Garcia, and Jesus Garcia; and two granddaughters, Margarita and Sophia Garcia.



Viewing will be held from 7-8pm on Thursday evening, April 23, 2015, at St. Linus Church, 13915 Shoemaker Avenue, Norwalk, California 90650. A vigil will immediately follow at 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following morning, Friday, April 24, 2015, also at St. Linus. Interment will follow the mass at Olive Lawn Memorial Park, 13926 La Mirada Blvd., La Mirada, California 90638.
