Marguerite Muriel Wolter

Marguerite Wolter It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Marguerite, but with joy unspeakable knowing she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At age 90, Marguerite passed away in the home of her daughter, Vickie, on November 30, 2015. She was born in Whittier, CA, to the late Clarence Davis and Josie (Jones) Davis. Marguerite went to local schools including Whittier High. During the depression the family moved to different areas including Lone Pine, CA.



In Whittier, CA, January 1942, Marguerite married Craig Lee Chartier; who preceded her in death in August, 1946. In Yuma, Arizona, November 1949, she married Howard Warren Veach. In August 1976, she married Gene Phillip Wolter; who preceded her in death in 1985.



Her son Craig Chartier preceded her in death in October 2005. She is survived by children Barry Chartier of Whittier, Victor James Hampton of Boise, ID, Norma (Veach) McClary of Newport Beach and Vickie (Veach) Barton of Wildomar; daughter-in-law Valieda Chartier of Salina, Utah; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, the most current who was born on November 28, 2015.



She lived in Whittier, Chino, Huntington Harbor, Downey, Orange, and spent her last 12 years in Riverside County.



As a housewife she always loved having her family over, especially during the holidays. She was a wonderful cook and always provided trays and trays of candy, cookies and steamed persimmon pudding. In her 50s & 60s she discovered her artistic talent in quilting and created a beautiful framed jewelry lighted Christmas tree.



She attended the Whittier Foursquare Church and later Zion Christian Center in Orange, CA. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 91.
