Marcella A. Hoglund

Marcella A. Hoglund was born August 2, 1927 in El Paso, Texas to William Morris and Anne Cecilia (DeBary) Jones. She passed away January 11, 2013 in Fullerton, California.



As a young girl, Marcella moved with her family to Chicago, Illiniois. She grew up and attended school there, eventually receiving a Bachelor's degree from Mundelein College in Chicago.



In 1958, Marcella married Richard 'Lyle' Hoglund in Los Angeles, California. They made their home in La Mirada, California where they raised their four children, Valerie, Paul, Jeanette, and John. Marcella remained in La Mirada until moving to an assisted living facility in Fullerton just a few years ago.



Marcella was a spiritual person with deep religious convictions in her Catholic faith. She was always very active in church and went on many Catholic Pilgrimages around the world. Outside of the church, Marcella was committed to her home and family and enjoyed gardening.



She is survived by her children, Valerie (Wayne) Newcome, Paul Hoglund, Jeanette Clark, and John (Sue) Hoglund; and six grandchildren. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband.



A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at 11:30am on Friday, January 18, 2013 at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, California. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights, California.
