Madonna Louise Young was born on June 11, 1929 to John and Lorene Wilson in Los Angeles, California. Donna grew up in East Los Angeles and graduated from Garfield High School.
On March 29, 1949 in Los Angeles, California Donna married Richard Dick Young. The couple had three children: Tami, Jeffrey and Bryan. The couple lived and raised their family in La Habra and La Habra Heights, California. As a young mom, Donna stayed at home and raised her children. As her children grew, she began to work for the school district. She progressed to teaching preschool and served as the associate director for the preschool intermittently for the remainder of her working life.
When Donna was younger she loved to dance. She and Dick took ballroom dance lessons for years. She was a lover of plants and flowers and spent a lot of time outside taking care of her property, plants and flowers. She also loved playing the slot machines, taking cruises to Baja and going to Catalina. Donna was also involved for many years at La Habra Christian Church.
On January 6, 2018 at the age of 88, Donna passed away at her home in La Habra Heights, California. She is survived by her two children: Tami (Ronald)Calmelat and Bryan Young, step-grandchildren: Richard Calmelat, Robert Calmelat, Ryan Calmelat, great-granddaughter: Gabrielle Calmelat, two brothers: Bert and Glenn Wilson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Dick, and her son Jeffrey.
