Lupe H. Rodriguez, beloved aunt, sister, and friend to many passed away at her home on December 8, 2023. Born to Pedro and Eulalia Rodriguez on December 21, 1938, Lupe was the fifth of six children, the only girl in a family with five boys. Lupe lived 85 wonderful years in Los Angeles, California.
Lupe loved life and lived it exuberantly and actively up until her passing. She was kind, caring and very generous to everyone. Lupe was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. In her younger years, she dedicated herself to caring for her mother until her passing in 1967, after which she volunteered a tremendous amount of time assisting seniors in different organizations. It was with these organizations that she traveled all over the United States and made many friends.
After the passing of her brothers, she was the last surviving member of her family, she stepped in as the matriarch of the family to bring joy, warmth, humor, and love to all her nieces and nephews. Many lives have been enriched by her presence.
In her later years, she loved spending time with her close friends, playing bingo, participating in senior activities and trips, and communing with her neighbors. She was an avid walker and would never pass up a card game of Hollywood Rummy.
Lupe was preceded in death by brothers Peter H. Rodriguez, Leonard H. Rodriguez, Francisco (Kiko) Rodriguez, and Gabriel H. Rodriguez and her niece and nephew Martha Rodriguez and Peter Rodriguez. She is survived by her nieces Jeanette Espinoza, Gina Romo, Stephanie Rodriguez, Adriane Rodriguez, Dione Rodriguez, Valarie Rodriguez-Lows, Vivian Meddock, and her nephews Kenny Rodriguez, Rodney Rodriguez, Andy Rodriguez and Gabriel Rodriguez, Jr. She is also survived by 31 grand nieces and nephews.
