Devoted Father and Businessman

Luis Herrera Fabian, 51, died Monday, Dec.1, at his mother's Los Angeles home with all of his loving family by his side. After a year of losing the fight against cancer the time came for his pain and suffering to end.



Luis was born on June 6, 1963 in Uruapan, Michoacan Mexico to the late David and Sofia Fabian. He lived in Uruapan up until he was 16 years old where he worked as a mechanic, led an academic revolution at his middle school, and helped his dad with his shoe business. Luis later moved to Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from South Gate High School with honors, and later went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.



Luis met Ivonne, during school while on break, at South Gate High School after having asked her for a sip of her coffee, Ivonne rejected his advance and continued her day. After repeated attempts to try and court her, Ivonne finally gave in to his overwhelming charm and agreed to a date with him. They married and on June 15, 1985 and spawned 3 beautiful children. Ivonne, Luis jr. And Jonathan.



Luis leaves behind 4 brothers 3 lovely sisters,1 seven year old grandson, and his Mother.



Luis worked as a Business Administrator in the food industry for over 30 years. He started as an entry level production worker but quickly excelled to upper management practically overnight. Luis enjoyed running, the great outdoors, eating, dancing and the occasional beer(s). When he wasn't working on his car or fixing stuff around the house you could find him spending time with his family cracking jokes or dancing 'el zapateado' with his sister Alicia. Luis lived his life to the fullest, he was an open-minded, free-spirited, and selfless man who always put his family first. He liked to remind people how absurd life could get and to never forget to smile.



Luis is survived by his wife, Ivonne and children, Jonathan, Ivonne and Luis, along with his mother, Sofia, and 5 brothers and 3 sisters.



Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014, 2-4pm, at White Emerson Mortuary Chapel, 13304 E Philadelphia Street, Whittier, California 90601.

A prayer service will take place at 2pm at the above location.
