Lucy grew up in Whittier, CA on the Murphy Ranch. Evaristo was a picking foreman for the Murphy Ranch. Lucy went to East Whittier Elementary School and graduated from Whittier High School in 1942. She continued her education at Fullerton JC but discontinued her education to care for her Mother Julia who was very sick at the time. Her professors felt a profound loss of such a brilliant mind.

After WWII she married her long time friend but never a boyfriend till after WWII, Mac Franco. They were wed on November 21, 1953. In December she gave birth to a son, Reginald, who survived her.

Her life was dedicated to her family, her Catholicism, and charitable efforts. St Brunos in Whittier was her lifelong parish.

Crocheting was her biggest hobby and the blankets, doilies and other creations are too numerous to mentions. Let it be said that many family and friends were ecstatic to receive her creations.

Her love, affection and inspiration will be missed.
