Lois Muse Kinikin died on November 6, 2013 in La Habra, California after a long and productive life. She will be missed by daughters, Wanda Morgan of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Myra Collins Welch of Sunnyvale, California and Jeanette Miller of Newport Beach, grand children Sherri Collins, Tracy Miller, Michael Miller, and great grandchildren Kirsten, Quinlan and Emily Cooney as well as son in law John Miller and grandson in law Glenn Cooney, as well as dear friends who have kept in touch through the years.
Born April 1, 1913 in Arkansas to Eva and Lee Parker, she married Jefferson Muse, a native of Oklahoma. Shortly before America joined in the war Jeffy came to California to find work. Lois and their three daughters joined him in California the day that Pearl Harbor was attacked arriving by train in Los Angeles. Lois soon also went to work in the defense industry.
When the children were older, Lois went back to school and obtained her degree as a Licensed Vocational nurse. She worked at a hospital in Montebello and enjoyed every part of it, but couldnt bear the childrens ward because it made her so sad.
The family moved to Whittier during the early fifties and joined Calvary Baptist Church. Lois concentrated on her family and church during those years. She loved to cook, was an excellent baker, and an accomplished seamstress.
Her beloved husband, Jeffy died after 60 years of marriage. Lois moved to Friendly Village, in La Habra soon after.
After 15 years as a widow, she remarried Raymond Kinikin, whom she met in church. They were married just 3 days before celebrating her 90th birthday. It was a formal wedding, and she made her own beautiful gown. They lived in Rays home in LaMirada before moving to the Palms in LaMirada.
Ray passed away on January 17, 2009 in Whittier, California.
