Leo Anthony Noyola, 29, passed away in Whittier on August 5, 2016. Born on April 8, 1987 in Redondo Beach, he was born to his parents Leopold Anthony Noyola & Leticia Isabel Garcia. He was a dearly loved son, step-son, brother, step-brother, grandson and friend and he will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
Leo (or Little Leo as he was more affectionately known), grew up attending schools in Whittier. He graduated from Whittier High School in 2005, where he played for the football team all four years. He then went on to attend Rio Hondo College. He held a position working at Sams Club in La Habra, but also worked with a non-profit educational agency called LEARN (Learning Enrichment & Academic Resources Network). It was through his position with LEARN that he inspired many teens and young adults to grow in their appreciation of educational values.
Leo loved being active taking hikes, being outdoors, playing the guitar these were among some of his favorite activities. He was also an avid Oakland Raiders fan. No doubt his love for football was seen anytime he watched his favorite team play or when he stepped onto the football field himself.
He is survived by his father and mother, Leopold Noyola and Leticia Garcia; his brothers Richard, Michael, and Quentin Noyola; his step-mother, Irene Noyola; step-brother, Jesse Padilla; grandparents, Leopoldo Noyola, Emigdio Garcia & Guillermina Garcia; and is also survived by countless students, co-workers and friends whose lives have been touched by Leo.
