Kenneth Marlin Bush was born February 8, 1922, in San Luis Obispo, California, to Albert and Pearl (Ross) Bush. He passed away Monday evening, November 26, 2012, in Placentia, California at the age of 90.
Ken grew up and attended school in Phoenix, Arizona. He joined the Army Air Force and honorably served our country during World War II as an airplane mechanic. His duties took him to China, Burma and India.
While serving in the military, Ken met and married the love of his life, Katherine Betty Brind. They were married on January 28, 1945, and made their home in Hawthorne, California following Ken's discharge. They eventually moved to Santa Ana, California where they raised their five children. Their retirement years took them to Murrieta and, finally, Brea, California. They enjoyed nearly 63 wonderful years together before Betty's passing in December of 2007.
Professionally, Ken worked for over 50 years as a glass contractor. He started his career working in the family business and later owned and operated 'Arrow Glass' for 36 years. The glass business was such a part of him that he continued to work part-time as an estimator into his 80's.
Ken was a big fan of Nascar. He faithfully watched the races. In his younger years, Ken had his own plane for a time and really enjoyed flying. He was season ticket holder of the Anaheim Angels for many years. His children remember going with him to the games and on boating trips. Ken would also take the boys hunting for dove and quail. The later years involved attending the events of his grandchildren, reading and regular workouts at Nifty After Fifty.
Ken was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a man of genuine integrity. A very kind and gentle person, Ken was loved by all who knew him. He truly cared about others and was extremely generous. He loved his family greatly and was greatly loved by them.
'Pop', as he was known by his grandchildren, leaves a wonderful legacy in his example. He adored his dear wife, Betty, and he was totally devoted to her. Though he missed her dearly upon her passing, Pop endured to the end by living life to the fullest.
