Kathy Melodee Goodwin (Hall) was born in Inglewood, CA, to Keith and Marilyn Hall on December 30, 1954. She grew up in La Mirada, CA, where she attended Neff High School. Kathy went on to Biola University where she earned a BS degree in Biological Sciences, a BS degree in Nursing, and a Master's Degree in Nursing Administration. Upon completion of her BSN she was hired on at PIH Health in Whittier in July 1983 where she quickly moved up to "Same Day Surgery" where she worked as a surgical nurse. On April 14, 1984, Kathy married Randy (James) Goodwin and moved to Fullerton, CA. Later she attended Whittier Law School and earned her Juris Doctorate in 2002. In May 2015 Kathy was diagnosed with advanced stage IV Colon cancer. With limited options she chose to fight her cancer at PIH Health. Kathy's fight, with her husband supporting her 100%, lasted nearly 3.5 years before the Lord took her home peacefully on September 26, 2018. Kathy loved to travel with her husband, Randy, where it was very common for them to do fun spur of the moment ventures. Her most recent and cherished trip was to Israel to walk where Jesus walked in November 2016. She was so thankful God gave her the strength to go on the trip. Kathy loved her friends and she loved her church family at Morningstar Christian Chapel in Whittier and E.V. Free in Fullerton. Anyone who knew her knows she loved to serve the Lord and had a servants heart. She was a co-care group leader for several years, did volunteer work in service to Christ, loved to write notes of encouragement and support to her friends, family and coworkers, and preferred to act anonymously whenever possible encouraging those around her. Kathy is survived by her husband and best friend Randy (James) Goodwin, mother Marilyn Hall, brother Kenneth Hall, brother Keith Hall, Jr, sister and brother-in-law Karen and Barry Halstead, sister Holly Hall, sister and brother-in-law Candy and Clay Reinhardt, mother-in-law Phyllis Goodwin, sister in law and husband Diana and Ed Hahn, and loving nieces and nephews. Kathy and Randy had no children except for their beloved pet Buster. Preceding her in death was her father Keith Hall, brother Kelly Hall, father-in-law Jim Goodwin, brother-in-law David Goodwin, and nephew Andy Hahn.
