Katherine Lancaster Pohl

Katherine (Kay) Lancaster Pohl died at her home on Saturday, November 20th in her own bed, surrounded by family and most important, in the arms of her beloved husband, Bob. One of four children, Kay was born in Signal Mountain, Tennessee on September 30th, 1922. She loved being a Wife, Mom and Grandma. Her five children, Bobby, Beezy, Jim, Peter & Katie, between them, have twelve (12) children. The grandkids found in Kay a second mother, a person they could lean on whenever needed.Working with Hooper Ratings, she moved to California from New York City after WWII. While raising her family, as well as surviving tuberculosis and cancer, she volunteered for over a quarter of a century at St. Jude's Hospital and found a myriad of opportunities to contribute to the well being of her parish church, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Kay will be remembered for her kindness and her humor at a funeral mass at the Church on Saturday, December 4th at 10 AM.Donations in her name can be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church
