Julianne Thomas

Julianne 'Juli' Thomas passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, July 24, 2011. Born on April 21, 1916 in Newcastle, PA, she was born to her parents James & Jenny Littier. She graduated high school in 1934, and then in the summer of 1940 she married her High-school sweetheart Dan Thomas. Julianne was a very active woman. She underwent technical training to work in the nursing field. She was always very involved with her church service groups and also served as a catechism teacher. She loved to cook, host parties, and most of all she loved to dance. She and her husband, Dan, were the Jitterbug King & Queen. She is survived by her husband, Dan P. Thomas, Sr.; her son, Dan Thomas, Jr; granddaughter, Catherine Hiner; and great-granddaughter Amanda Julianne Hiner. She is proceeded in death by her siblings Rose, James, & Elizabeth 'Betty'. Funeral Services for Julianne will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM at Beatitudes of Our Lord Catholic Church, 13013 S. Santa Gertrudes Ave., La Mirada, CA 90638, with a viewing immediately before the Mass from 10:00AM - 10:30AM. Interment will follow the Mass at Olive Lawn Memorial Park, La Mirada.
