Judy Sandberg passed peacefully in the company of loved ones on January 6, 2025 at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, California. Judy was born in Fort Collins, Colorado. She spent a few years of early childhood in Nebraska until her family returned to Colorado where Judy finished elementary and primary school in Longmont, Colorado.
After studying at the University of Colorado, Judy relocated to San Francisco to work as a flight attendant for PanAm Airlines. Judy flew all over the world: Paris, Tahiti, Hong Kong, Saigon, and over 200 flights to Hawaii.
Serendipitously, Judy met the love of her life, Joel Sandberg while both were working temporary jobs in Foster City, California. Shortly after marrying in 1973, Judy and Joel relocated to Mission Viejo and then Hacienda Heights where they lived for the past 48 years.
Judy had many loves: golf, bridge, service clubs, friends, theater, travel and bargain hunting but her greatest love was her family. She is survived by her husband of 51 years; Joel, children; Brad Brallier and Amy Zeinner, son-in-law; Joe Zeinner, and her grandchildren; Lily, Erik and Macy.
Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend with a big heart, quick wit, immense strength and resiliency, and limitless positivity. She was cherished and will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Friendly Hills Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Assistance League of Whittier, P.E.O. International, or Shelter’s Right Hand.
