Judith Margaret Ferrar

Judith Margaret Ferrar, known affectionately as the Blueberry Kid," passed away on January 1, 2024, in La Mirada, California. She was born on August 9, 1943, in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her loss is mourned by her devoted family and wide circle of friends.

Raymond Sr. and Judith married in Rhode Island in 1966.  Raymond Sr. and Judith met in California at a restaurant.  Raymond Sr. was in the Navy.  They parted ways and met again in Rhode Island.  Judith was filling in for a friend as a waitress at a bar that night and by chance, Raymond Sr. told Judith that he would marry her one day and never leave her again.

While known as the "Blueberry Kid," Judith's generosity went beyond her professional commitments. She loved spending time with her family above all else. Her presence at family gatherings was a beacon of love and unity that brought everyone closer together. Whether it was sharing stories over dinner or laughing together during the holiday's, Judith cherished every moment spent in the company of her loved ones.

Judith lived a life defined by compassion and service. For ten years, she worked as a bus driver for Dial-a-Ride for the City of La Mirada. Her dedication to her job touched the lives of countless individuals within the community she served. With a warm smile and kind nature, Judith made each journey not just a reliable transport but also an opportunity for connection and support.

Outside of work and family, Judith indulged in various hobbies that brought her immense joy. Playing Bingo, going to the Casino, gardening, and looking after her loyal companion Ollie brought color and zest to her everyday life.

On January 19, 2024, friends, family, and community members will gather to bid farewell to Judith Margaret Ferrar at White Emerson Mortuary in Whittier, California. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM before concluding at 12:30 PM. It will be an opportunity for everyone whose lives were touched by Judith's kindness to gather together to celebrate her remarkable journey.

Following the Funeral Service, a Graveside Service will be held at Olive Lawn Memorial Park in La Mirada from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on that same day. This final gathering will honor and pay tribute to Judith as she finds her eternal resting place.

Although we mourn her loss deeply, we take solace in the fact that Judith's spirit will live on through those she leaves behind.  Her memory will also be cherished by her children Joan M. Becerril, Raymond O. Ferrar Jr., Arlene E. Dupay, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Judith Margaret Ferrar touched the hearts of countless people during her time on this earth. Her selfless nature, unwavering love for family, and zest for life will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and carry on her legacy of kindness and compassion.

May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that she made a profound difference in this world and that her spirit will be cherished for generations to come.
