Jorge Angle Gelabert-Megret was born on October 9, 1921 in Santiago, Cuba to parents Angel Gelabert Viv and Maria Megret. He grew up in Santiago where he graduated from 'Istituto Segunda Ensenanza'. Following graduation he moved to Havana to attend the University from which he obtained his Doctorate in Law - Diplomatic and Government and Ph.D. He went on to NY University where he obtained a Master's degree in History and later a Ph.D. With his degrees Jorge worked as a Spanish Professor at Saint Francis High School in California. He also taught in Cuba as a History Professor at Occident University and as a History and Geography Professor at Instituto de El Vedado.Jorge married Asela Soler He enjoyed gardening and traveling. Jorge was also an active member of Lady of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Paramount, California.Jorge Gelabert passed away on March 19, 2011 in Long Beach, California. Jorge is survived by his sister Carmen, nieces Rosanne Yates and Grace Lemus, and nephew Edward Lemus. He is also survived by his grandnieces Selena and Aurora Yates.
