Jonathan F. Rivas

Jonathan Rivas was born April 27, 1996, in Artesia, California. He was raised by his loving mother, Arcelia Rivas, along with his sweet sister, Briana. Jon, as he was affectionately known, passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2017, in Los Angeles, California.

Jonathan grew up and went to school in Norwalk, California. As a cadet at Southeast Academy High School, he developed important traits that prepared him for honorable service in the US Navy. He worked as an Aviation Ordinance Man while in the Navy and was able to capitalize on his knowledge by gaining employment in aerospace following his discharge.

Paintballing, good food, and his two dogs, Pixie and Yoda, were high on Jonathans list of passions, but spending time with family and friends was his greatest joy. In the last months of his life, Jonathan was working six days a week. His family will cherish the fact that he chose to spend his very limited leisure time with them.

Jonathan is survived by his mother, Arcelia Rivas; his sister, Briana Michelle Rivas; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many dear friends. Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten. His memory will live on with them forever.
