John Paul Rockmore

June 1, 1965 — March 29, 2025

Long Beach

John Paul Rockmore, a loving husband, father, mentor, and legendary coach, passed away on March 29, 2025, leaving a legacy of faith, family, and football.

Born on June 1, 1965, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, John was the son of Coritha Nadell Jackson and sibling to James, Angela, Virginia, and Sean.

Although he held many professions throughout his life, Coach Rock’s impact on sports, specifically high school football, was unparalleled. He poured his heart into developing young athletes, mentoring his players, and changing lives. His passion extended beyond the field as he worked tirelessly to secure jobs and college scholarships for student-athletes.

Above all, John was a beloved husband to his wife, Kathleen Rockmore. Together, they lived a beautiful, crazy life, with their son Tristan Rockmore. John treasured his beautiful daughters: Ashley, Niekelo, Czaise, Sigourney, Kazmere, Hope, and Faith. He was also a proud grandfather and uncle.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dollie Mae Rockmore; his mother, Nadell Jackson; and his brother, James.

Coach Rock’s life was defined by his dedication to his athletes and his love for his family. His influence will continue to be felt by all who have had the privilege of knowing that love.

Beyond the gridiron, John was a man of deep faith and a member of Belmont Heights UMC. Coach Rock’s life will be celebrated Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Belmont Heights UMC in Long Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to local youth sports teams to continue his legacy of helping student-athletes achieve their dreams.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
