John Philip Krave

John Philip Krave, 72, of Whittier, CA, passed away on March 25, 2025 after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.

John was born on November 17, 1952 to Clifford and Elizabeth Krave in Santa Monica. After John graduating from St. Bruno Catholic School in 1966 and St. Paul High School in 1970, he went on to attend Loyola Marymount University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1974. Following a brief tenure where he was stationed in Cheyenne, WY with the United States Air Force, John attended Loyola Law School where he earned his law degree and was admitted to the California State Bar Association in 1980.

In addition to more than four decades in the legal profession, John served at various times on the local and national boards of the ALS Association.

In 1979, John met his wife, Joan, in Dublin, Ireland. John and Joan went on to have one daughter, Meagan.

In 2022, John retired and spent his time golfing, watching Dodger baseball, and spending time with family.

John was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Stephen. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son-in-law, Dennis, and granddaughter, Erin.

Services will be held at Beatitudes of Our Lord Catholic Church in La Mirada on Tuesday, April 8, at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
