John Arellanes

June 30, 1949 — September 4, 2013

John Arellanes was born on June 30, 1949 in Artesia, California to Joe and Mary Arellanes. As he was growing up, Johns family moved around between Artesia, Huntington Beach, Pico Rivera and Pomona.

John worked in construction for many years while raising his family of three children; John, Sabrina and Elisa.

John had many hobbies. He loved going to the race track and bar-b-quing. Music was also something special to him; he listened to oldies, the Beatles and classic rock and recently had the plan of Sabrina getting a guitar so the two could write songs together. Finally, he loved fishing. No matter the type. On a boat, from the rocks, in a lake, in the ocean only Dr. Suisse could sum up all the ways he liked to fish!

John was a man of character. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help those around him. His kids describe him as very loving man and a lot of fun and will always remember his big beautiful smile.

On the evening of September 4, 2013, John went home to be with the Lord. He is survived by his three children; John Arellanes, Sabrina Acosta and Elisa Gerber, his 6 grandchildren, Tiffany, Phillip, Brittany, Brandon, Angel and Ashley, his 6 great-grandchildren, Albert, Luis, Aliyah, Elijah, Matthew and Jazline and many nieces, nephews and friends.
