John Alexander Cranmer

John Alexander Cranmer was born July 19, 1957 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Donald and Patricia (Narecowicz) Cranmer. He passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his home in La Mirada, California.At the age of two years, John's family moved to Long Beach, California where he grew up and attended school. He joined the US Army after high school and served doing 'clean up' in Vietnam.John went to work doing maintenance for the City of Long Beach upon his return from the military. He later worked in the ship yards for 4 years, but left due to an injury. For the past 22 years, John worked as warehouse manager for a surplus merchandise distributor. In his spare time, John enjoyed coin collecting, baseball, and playing computer games.On January 17, 1981, John married Elsa Andrade in Ports of Call, San Pedro, California. To there union came three children, Teresa, John, Jr. and Donald. His family was very important to John. In more recent years, he especially enjoyed playing with his granddaughters. Mr. Cranmer is survived by his wife, Elsa; daughter Teresa (Cesar) Chavarin; son, John, Jr.; granddaughters, Tatiana and Isabella Chavarin; sisters, Mary and June Lucero; and brothers, Robert Cranmer and Anthony Gandara. John was preceded in death by his son, Donald Olegario.A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 27, 2012 at White Emerson Mortuary Chapel, 13304 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA 90601.
