Joe was born in Tempe, AZ on December 30, 1925 to Carrie Soza (Rodriguez) Sanchez and Rosendo V Rodriguez. After the loss of his father, his mother moved the family to Los Angeles, CA. He ended up in Buena Park, CA where he lived for over 62 years.
At 18 Joe joined the Marine Corps, serving in WW2 where he became a sharpshooter. He was honorably discharged in 1947. Shortly after, he met and married Marjorie Mae Ruth Leonhard. The two were married for over 74 years. Together they raised three children.
Joe had many jobs through the years. He worked at an Ice House, joined the merchant Marines, worked as a Laborer, and as a brick layer. He joined the Operating Engineers Local 12, where he learned to operate cranes. He eventually retired from the Operators, although he continued to be an active member for over 65 years.
Throughout the years, Joe was involved in many organizations, including The American Legion, Moose Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Marine Corps League, and the Military Order of the Devil Dogs. He was most proud of and involved in the Free Masons and Shriners where he volunteered much of his time.
Joe is survived by his wife of 74 years, Marjorie (Leonhard) Rodriguez, Buena Park, CA. Three children, Rosendo J Rodriguez (Gilda), Cari-Ella Rodriguez, and Linnie R. Crane, all from Buena Park, CA. Three sisters, Josephine Cronin, Baldwin Park, CA. Gloria Juarez, Anderson, CA. and Elizabeth Mahikoa, HI.
As well as nine grandchildren; Brenda Rodriguez, Buena Park, CA, Desirae Munoz (Daniel) Parker, CO, Steven Pelerine (Crystal) Parker, CO, Jamie Garcia (Rudy) Anna TX. Samuel Rodriguez, Richland WA, Daniel Rodriguez (Brittany) Springfield OR, Shauntel Ristine (Randy) Colorado Springs, CO, Joseph Pelerine (Amy) Whittier, CA, and Matthew Crane, Buena Park, CA.14 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Granddaugher. Along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Joe loved his family. Family always came first. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
