Jo Ann Radosevic, age 90, passed away on October 25, 2021 at her home in Sun City, California. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California, where she will be interred with her loving husband, Phil.
"Josie," as she was affectionately called, was born January 5, 1931, in Los Angeles, California, to William and Eleanor (Hamilton) Michie. She grew up and went to school in Wheeling, West Virginia, graduating from Triadelphia High School in 1950. During her teenage years, Jo Ann participated in, and won, several beauty pageants. She always insisted on looking her best, no matter the occasion!
On August 12, 1950, Jo Ann married a handsome Army veteran, Phillip Radosevic. They enjoyed 65 years together and were blessed with two sons, Phillip III and Bruce. They settled in Whittier, California, where Phil worked as a motor officer for the Whittier Police Department. Though primarily a wonderful homemaker, Jo Ann spent a number of years working at the reception desk of the JC Penney Beauty Salon. In their later years, Josie and Phil spent time living in Boise, Idaho; Charleston, West Virginia; Abingdon, Virginia; Visalia, California; and Sun City, California.
An incredibly active person, Josie was always on the go. She greatly enjoyed gardening, shopping, and visiting with friends. She was a wonderful hostess and always insisted on guests having something to eat. Perhaps as much as people, Jo Ann loved sweets and animals. She was especially fond of cats, and "Tutu" her neighbor's cow she named for its number 22 ear-tag. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her inner strength and independence, her candor, and her cute sense of humor.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Phil; her sons, Phillip III and Bruce; and her brother, Jack. She leaves behind her brother, Henry "Skip" Voight - affectionately "Skipper" to Jo Ann - and his wife, Judy of Wheeling, West Virginia; nieces, Michelle MacRae of Huntington Beach, California, and Tammy Rapp of Wheeling, West Virginia; nephew, Jackie Michie of Yorba Linda, California; a cousin, Connie Carey of Charleston, West Virginia; and several close friends.
Friends may, if they wish, donate in her memory to St. John's Home for Children in Wheeling, West Virginia, at www.stjohnshomeforchildren.org.
