Santiago "Jimmy" Martinez was born on July 27, 1950, to Julian and Frances Martinez in Whittier, California. He grew up in Santa Fe Springs, surrounded by the love of his large family, which included his five brothers and eleven sisters. Jimmy deeply cherished his family and was always willing to go above and beyond for them. On March 19, 1970, Jimmy married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Zubiate. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with seven children: Aurora, Jimmy, Kathy, Melissa, David, Jennifer, and Joanne. They also welcomed Moses into their family, whom Jimmy lovingly considered his son. A devoted husband and father, Jimmy and Nancy raised their children in Whittier, where he resided until his passing. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his children; his sons-in-law Richard, Joe, and Henry; his daughters-in-law Olga and Monica; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Jimmy was a hardworking man and a dedicated provider for his family. His weekends were spent tending to his yard, washing his car—and any car parked in the driveway—listening to oldies, and bringing his kids together for a BBQ. Jimmy found great joy in spending time with his brothers and sisters. They shared countless laughs, breakfasts, and fond memories together. Even when his health began to decline, he greatly missed those cherished moments with them. Jimmy will be remembered as a kind, loving, and selfless man who valued family above all else. His legacy of love and devotion lives on through the lives of those he touched.
