Jeffrey Allen Shoopman Jeffrey Allen Shoopman, 36, of La Mirada, California, died November 11, 2012, a life tragically cut short. He was born on February 7, 1976 in Orange, California, the son of Joe and Velma, and the middle of three siblings. He graduated from Anaheim Union High school in the summer of 1994.
Shortly after graduation, he entered the United States Marine Corps and served our country until 2008, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Mast and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
After his return from active service, he joined Pacific Consolidated Industries where he became a key member of the Test Department on Cryogenic Equipment. Through his work, he was able to continue his thirst for adventure by traveling around the world including Thailand, Korea, India, Egypt, England, Germany, Italy, Spain and countless other locations. In 2006, Jeff left that position and joined Cytec R&D Department where he became a valued team member very quickly. He spent the last couple of years as a Lab Technician, developing processes that have been adopted in the U.S. as well as in England. While working on Project X, he was awarded the Shiego Shingo Innovation Award for his contribution to the project.
Jeff and his wife Sarah started their life together in La Mirada. Jeff married the girl he had loved since his days at Anaheim Union High School, and the bond and love they had for each other was obvious to all. Jeff loved and raised his step-children, Corrine and Triston, as his own. In his true drill sergeant way, he made sure they became the free spirited, headstrong and loving children they are today. Jeff made many friends along the way, challenging everyone in a special way that made the friendships stronger. His family and friends will miss that loud booming voice yelling orders, knowing that if you ever needed him, he would be the person you could count on for anything or at any time.
Jeff leaves behind his wife, Sarah; his children, Corrine and Triston; his grandson, Calvin; his brothers, Mike and Owen; and his parents, Joe and Velma. Services will be held Monday, the 19th at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, California, followed by burial services for the family only at Olive Lawn Memorial Park in La Mirada.
