Jeanette Rodeback

December 30, 1942 — May 8, 2018

Linda Carole Jeanette Rodeback was born December 30, 1942, at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, California, to George Joseph and Juanita (Chavez) Chavez. She passed away on May 8, 2018, in Whittier, California, at the age of 75.

Jeanette or Jeannie grew up in Los Angeles and Hawthorne, California. She graduated from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California, and then continued her education at El Camino College in Torrance, California. While in her early twenties, Jeannie also attended Airline Assistant School in Kansas City, Missouri. She and her classmates were able to see the Beatles in a live concert.

On January 13, 1978, Jeanette married Charles Albert Rodeback in La Mirada, Los Angeles County, California, by Robert W. Hansen, Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They made their home in La Mirada and then Whittier, California during their 40 years of marriage.

Professionally, Jeannie worked for about 15 years as an In-patient/Out-patient Admitting Clerk for Centinella Hospital. She then found joy in homemaking. This gave her time to develop her talent as a seamstress, and she made a number of wedding dresses over the years. Jeanette enjoyed cooking, watching TV game shows, and making jewelry. Her first love, however, was always her family.

Faith was also a big part of Jeannies life. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was in the Santa Gertrudes Ward of the Whittier California Stake at the time of her death.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Evelyn Corinne Brown; grandchildren, Stephanie Jae and Matthew David Berry, Scott David and Alyssa Rae Brown, and Sophie Marie Brown; a brother, Wilfred Archuleta; and a sister, Evelyn Archuleta. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jeanette Emery; a sister, Corinne Milligan; older brothers, Alonzo and Milton Archuleta; and a younger brother, George Joseph Chavez, Jr.

A funeral service was held on Monday, May 14, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Whittier Stake Center, in Whittier, California. Interment took place at Olive Lawn Memorial Park in La Mirada, California.
