Jane A. Rosenberger was born on January 19, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Matthew and Clara Cunningham. Jane's family moved to Long Beach, California when she was four and then settled in Culver City, California. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1935.
From 1935 1937 Jane attended Frank Wiggins Trade School where she studied dressmaking, pattern making and tailoring. She worked as a custom dressmaker in Beverly Hills and Columbia Studios. In 1945, Jane married Richard Dick K. Rosenberger in Davenport, Iowa. Jane and Dick moved to California in 1948 and settled in Whittier 1951. Jane and Dick had three children, Richard Jr, Martha and John. She continued to do custom dressmaking while raising the three children.
Jane was known for cooking and baking, especially at Christmas. She worked at Hinshaws Department Store in alterations and finished her sewing career at the Whittier Flag Shop. Jane loved sewing since childhood but her true passion was her family. Beyond her family and career, Jane as also involved at East Whittier Methodist Church, the Emblem Club and Jane and Dick were both active in Lions Club over the years.
On April 25, 2018 Jane passed away Whittier Place Senior Living, where she received excellent care in her last days, in Whittier, California at the age of 100. She is survived by her three children: Richard (Pat) Rosenberger Jr.; Martha (Brian) Blackburn and John (Jody) Rosenberger, her grandchildren: Carrie, Ric (Jen), Sara (Anthony), Leigh (Matt) and Jennifer and her great grandchildren, Nathan, Kaylee, Sidney, Charlie and Clayton.
Her family says: We all feel so blessed to have had her in our lives. She was a treasure to us all!
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at White Emerson Mortuary in Whittier, California at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest with her husband Dick at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California at a later date.
