Helen F. Hageman

Helen F. Hageman was born October 21, 1921 in Thermopolis, Wyoming to Charles and Christine Bixby. She passed away April 13, 2012 in La Mirada, California.Helen grew up and attended school in Nebraska, including Jr. College. She went on to teach school for a time before beginning her trek west. Her first stop was Denver, Colorado where she worked for Western Airlines. The west kept calling, and she eventually moved on to Los Angeles, California.Fortunately the west did keep calling, for Helen met Howard 'Bob' Hageman in Los Angeles. They were married in 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada and were blessed with three children: Tim, Chuck, and Chris.Helen loved her family and was always involved lives. She served as PTA President several years in a row and was a Brownie leader in the Girl Scouts. Later in life, Helen always had a deck of cards in her hand--from Solitare to Bridge with her lady friends, Helen loved to play cards.Mrs. Hageman is survived by her daughter, Chris Sowma; sons, Tim and Chuck Hageman; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Carol, Carl, Diane and step-granddaughter, Kristy; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Chase, and Zakery; and brother, Jack Bixby.A Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Whit Emeron Mortuary, 13304 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA 90601. Interment will follow at Olive Lawn Memorial Park in La Mirada, California.
