Gloria Marie Stoica

October 2, 1928 — April 1, 2020

Gloria Marie Stoica, 91, of La Mirada, CA passed away on Wednesday, April 1st.

Gloria was born on October 2, 1928 in Los Angeles to John and Ruth Putman. She is survived by her three sons, David, Donald (wife Kim), and Dennis (wife Sandy); three daughters, Beth (husband John), Barbara, and Beverly; two cousins, Gregg and Carole McQuillan, 18 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

She lived in Southern California her entire life, and graduated from Mount Saint Marys college, where she met her husband of 51 years, Robert (Bob) Stoica, who pre-deceased her. Gloria was a schoolteacher, who took time off from her career to raise her six kids. During that time, she was very active in their school at Beatitudes of our Lord Catholic School in La Mirada, as her Catholic faith was always very important to her. After the children were raised, she returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher for the East Whittier City School District, specializing in math, and at Santa Fe High School in the Whittier Union High School District. After she retired, she volunteered for many years in AARPs tax preparation service sponsored by the City of La Mirada, taking on the roles of both regional and district coordinator. A few years ago, she moved into the Brookdale assisted living facility in Yorba Linda, which is where she was when she passed away.

Because of the current COVID-19 situation, there will not be a funeral or any services at this time.
