Gloria Jane Heitzman

Gloria Jane Heitzman was born September 23, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Arthur and Mary Jane (Marxen) Murphy. She passed away February 13, 2013 in Whittier, California.



As a young girl, Gloria moved with her family from Ohio to Connecticut. They moved on to Whittier, California when she was in 7th grade. She attended East Whittier Middle School and graduated from California High School in 1962.



While in high school, Gloria began dating the love of her life, Jack Blair Heitzman. They were married in Whittier on April 18, 1964. They moved to Colorado for a time while Jack was in the military, but Whittier was always their home. To their union came two daughters, Debbie and Sandi, and they enjoyed 46 wonderful years until Jack's death in March of 2011.



For over 30 years, Gloria worked as an insurance representative with State Farm Insurance. When not at work, she most enjoyed being with her grandchildren, reading, or watching movies.



'Glo', as she was affectionately known, was full of life. She had a joyful personality and a boisterous nature that could light up any room. She didn't know a stranger and wanted to be engaged with others. Gloria was extremely loving, and everyone loved her. Hard-working and generous also describe Gloria. She will be remembered for her laugh and her love.



Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Craig) Malone and Sandi (Garrett) Frickle; granddaughters, Miranda, Abby and Amanda Frickle; grandsons, Jeffrey and Bryan Malone; and sister, Barbara Richards.



Viewing will take place from 12:30 - 1:30pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the First Friends Church, 13205 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, California 90601. (The parking lot is accessed from the alley behind the church). A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30pm. Interment will conclude at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.
