Gilbert Eloy Trujillo was born on February 23, 1942 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Gilbert Francisco and Ernestina Trujillo. Gilbert was one of six siblings, who were reared in Los Angeles, California.
After graduating from John Marshall High School, Gilbert served in the United States Army for two years and the Reserves for another four years. After his time in the service, Gilbert lived in Whittier, California, and worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Hughes Aircraft and J.P.L.
Gilbert had many hobbies including archery, tennis, fishing, camping, target shooting, and playing the guitar. He was also an avid reader, and .loved lively discussions about religion and politics. He was a member of the NRA and National Field Archery Assoc.
Uncle Gibby, as he was known, was a loving, affectionate, kind person and a cherished member of the Trujillo family, and enjoyed family gatherings. He had a tremendous sense of humor.
On March 25, 2014 Gilbert passed away at his home in Whittier, California. He is survived by his five siblings, Tony and Louie Trujillo, Dolores Forniss, Alma Pepito and Claudia Romero, 18 nieces and nephews, 19 grandnieces and nephews, 3 great-grand nieces and nephews and many dear cousins and friends.
Services will be held at St. Brunos Catholic Church in Whittier: a Vigil service on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 7:00pm and a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 9:30am. White Emerson Mortuary Assisting 562-698-0304
