Gerardo Valenzuela

Gerardo Valenzuela passed away on January 17, 2019 in Whittier, California at the age of 61. He was born on February 4, 1957 in Tijuana, Mexico to Othon and Guadalupe Valenzuela. Gerardo later moved to Santa Ana, California where he grew up and went to Valley High School and later attending the University of California Irvine. He married the love of his life, Patricia Rodriguez on May 24, 1995.

Gerardo lived the rest of his life in Whittier, California serving the community for 31 years as an elementary school teacher for West Whittier Elementary before retiring in 2017. In addition to educating students he enjoyed working on his cars (Porsches and Volkswagen Bugs), Olympic wrestling, taking care of his many cats and above all he loved spending time with his granddaughters. Gerardo was also an active member of Marantha Church in Santa Ana, California and entrusted his life to the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Lou Valenzuela and his survived by his wife, Patricia Valenzuela; daughter, Cristina Z. Tinnes; son, Gerardo (Gerry) Valenzuela; granddaughters, Emily Blake Tinnes, Ava Lou Tinnes; siblings, Andres, Othon, Adela, and Raul Valenzuela.
