Geraldine 'Gerrie' Davis passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on March 22, 2012 in Norco, California. Born on May 6, 1927 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, she was born to Jasper & Winnie Luna. On December 26, 1945, Gerrie was married to Matt J Davis. Together they had four children: Marline, Darline, Matt D, and Kevin.When Gerrie and Matt were married, in 1945, Matt was still in the Navy. After leaving the service, Matt and Gerrie set up housekeeping in Garden Grove where they began their family. They were married for 40 years; the majority of their married life was spent in the dairy business.Matt died in 1987 in Riverside, California, and it was after this that Gerrie became very active in the Eddie D. Smith Senior Center in Riverside. She was a secretary and volunteer. Gerrie also taught many instructional classes including crafts, basket making and crocheting. Gerrie won many awards for her crafts and she was very proud of them. Along with many other volunteering activities, she also provided coffee and donuts at the Mission Villa Apartments. Her catch phrase was, 'You know, you can be replaced.' This phrase became known and repeated by other residents and friends at the center. Gerrie remained a resident until her death on March 22, 2012.Gerrie is survived by her four children, Marline (Jim) Cole, Darline McMillan (Widowed), Matt D. (Pam) Davis, and Kevin R. (Robin) Davis; seven grandchildren, Tracy L. (Allen) Wallace, Geoffrey I. McMillan, Michael E. (Janice) Cole, Rebecca E. Zuniga, Dustin J. Davis, Shannon Davis, and Matt R. Davis; and 18 great grandchildren.Burial Services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California at 12:30PM.
