Gary William Mauss

Gary William Mauss of Placentia, California passed away at his home on January 16, 2025 at the age of 80. He was born on May 28, 1944 in Whittier, California to Ivan and Winifred Mauss. Gary attended Whittier High School and then went on to Cal Poly Pomona where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He worked for Rockwell International and Boeing for a total of 35 years. He was a part of the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. Gary married Pamela Zinn Mauss and had three children. His hobbies and interests were playing adult softball in his younger days, gardening, coaching youth sports and supporting his three grandsons in their various sporting activities. Gary was predeceased by his wife Pam, his parents, Ivan and Winifred Mauss, his sister Marcia Mauss Olquin, and his in-laws, Richard and Patricia Zinn. He is survived by his children, Melissa Mauss Oddo (Frank), Tracey Mauss, Jeffrey Mauss, his grandsons, Nicholas Oddo, Zachary Oddo, Aaron Oddo, his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Teri Zinn and many nieces and nephews. Gary’s life will celebrated with a private gathering of family and friends.
