Frederick Wallace Earl

Frederick W. Earl, Jr. was born May 10, 1921 in Burburnet, Texas to Frederick, Sr. and Marion Riel Earl. When Fred was 3 the family moved from Texas to California where fred attended Elementary School in Artesia. He then went on to graduate from Excelsior High School in 1939.As a young man Fred volunteered at the Artesia Fire Department and he worked at Macdonald Douglas. On September 11, 1942 Fred enlisted in the military and was sent to the South Pacific. He served in the Army Air Corps until he was honorably discharged on December 27, 1945 having achieved the rank of Sergeant. Upon release from the military Fred began his career with the Los Angeles county Fire Department where he served for 30 years.On July 31, 1948 he married Maria Lou Stevens of Fort worth, Texas. Fred and Maria Lou loved to travel together and were involved at Whittier Area Community Church, Artesia Historical Society, L.A. County Fire Department, Old Fire station 30's Historical Society. Fred was also an avid collector of Fire trucks and was an original coupon collector.Fred is survived by Daughter, Lou Ann Zulawski And husband Rick, Son Steven Earl and Wife Barbara.
