Frank Chester Janusz was born October 6, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois to Andrew and Mary (Gorka) Janusz. He passed away May 3, 2014, in Whittier, California, at the age of 92.
Frank grew up and went to school in Chicago. A proud member of the 8th Air Force, 446th Bomber Group, he served his country honorably in World War II. Shortly after the war, Frank became acquainted with a sweet co-worker, Evelyn Kowalczyk. They fell in love and were married in Chicago. Frank and Evelyn continued to live in Chicago until the 1960's when they moved to Whittier, California.
Professionally, Frank worked as a Purchasing Manager for an appliance manufacturing firm for 43 years. In his personal time, Frank greatly enjoyed playing cards--especially Bridge and Cribbage. He liked playing skilled opponents and found great glee in winning--especially against his son-in-law, Mike! Frank also enjoyed baseball and was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. He was a real character and often made others smile.
Family was a very important part of Frank's life. He was a very proud husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He is survived his daughter, Carole (Michael) Dougherty; son, William Janusz; grandsons, Colin and Brett; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Aiden, OIivia, Trudy, AJ, and Liam.
