Francis Lawrence Ayres

FRANCIS LAWRENCE AYRES, 85, of La Mirada, CA passed away, Sunday, August 20, 2017 at his home.

Francis was born May 31, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska & was adopted by Wayne & Viola Ayres. He graduated from Sutton High School in 1950. After his graduation he worked at the Ammunition Depot in Hastings, Neb. until he enlisted in the Navy on May 19, 1952. After completing his service in the Navy, he married Nancy Sansone at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Los Angeles, CA, on May 20, 1956. Francis worked numerous jobs such in aircraft assembly, operated his own gas station and was also a truck driver.

Francis is survived by his two daughters, Mary and Kristi, and one son, David; one grandson, Jonathon, and his wife of 61 years, Nancy.

A viewing will start at 5:00PM, Monday, August 28th at White Emerson Mortuary 13304 Philadelphia St. Whittier, CA, with a vigil to immediately follow at 7PM. A Prayer Service will be led on Tuesday, August 29th at 10:00AM, also at White Emerson Mortuary. Burial will follow at 1:30PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518.
