Evelyn Mary Moore

Evelyn was born in Gafney, South Carolina to Andrew & Grace Bright. Evelyn moved from South Carolina when she was 5 years old to Philadelphia, PA. This was during the depression where her father found work in downtown Philly. She completed the 9th grade and then went to work in a restaurant, living in Philly for 13 years.She was married in South Carolina to Owen Moore on April 2, 1945. A week later he was shipped overseas in WWII. When her husband returned they drove across the country to California where they settled in Compton. 10 years later they moved to La Mirada where they lived for 54 years.Evelyn worked as a waitress for 43 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Owen Moore; children, Cheryl Burton, Barry Moore, Brett Moore; her grandchildren Darcy Harlan, Taylor Moore, and Allison Moore; and finally her great-grandchildren Jackson Harlan and Cooper Harlan.
