Evelyn Geraldine Janusz was born on Christmas day, December 25, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois to Stanislaus and Karolina (Lash) Kowalczyk. She passed away March 10, 2014, in Whittier, California, at the age of 89.
Evelyn grew up and went to school in Chicago. Shortly after World War II she became acquainted with a co-worker, Frank Janusz. They fell in love and were married in Chicago. Evelyn and Frank continued to live in Chicago until the 1960's when they moved to Whittier, California.
In her younger years, Evelyn enjoyed bowling and spending time with her sisters. They were all very close. Family remained very important to Evelyn as her own children, Carole and William, were born. Evelyn was able to stay at home to raise her children, and that was important to her. She also found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn will be remembered as one who was 'always there' for her family.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Frank; daughter, Carole (Michael) Dougherty; son, William Janusz; grandsons, Colin, Brett, and Adam; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Aiden, OIivia, Trudy, AJ, and Liam.
