Erika M. Takeda

Erika M. Takeda, 74, passed away in Fontana, California on March 3, 2017. Born on March 13, 1942 in Treysa, Germany, she was born to her parents, Ferdinand Wilhelm Zegowitz & Anna Martha (Nee Wagner) Zegowitz. Erika grew up in Treysa, Germany until she was married to her husband, Allen Takao Takeda, on December 16, 1961.



Erika was a devoted military wife. Along with her husband, they lived in England, Malta, Hawaii, northern California and Wiesbaden, Germany. She was a faithful mother, staying at home to help raise the children through all the travels her family had. When living in Wiesbaden, she went to work at Willi Geck Home Collections which specialized in German China, glassware, and figurines. After finally settling down after the military life, Erika and Allen brought their family to southern California. Erika went to work at Imperial Animal Hospital and worked there for 30 years. She always had a special place in her heart for animals.



Erika is survived by her husband, Allen; daughters, Tanja (Craig) Sween & Nancy (Mitch) OBrien; grandsons, Nathan OBrien, Brock Sween & Chris Sween; brothers, Wilhelm sister, Rosalinde; and many nieces and nephews.



A memorial service will be held in Erikas honor on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11:00am at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier. A reception will immediately follow the service at White Emerson Mortuary.
