Emma Alicia Lopez, 67, passed away in Atascadero, California on April 11, 2016. Born to Alejandro & Guadalupe (Esparza) Luna on June 20, 1948, Emma was born in El Paso, Texas. She was married to Franklin Julius Lopez on January 20, 1967 at St. Marys of the Assumption Catholic Church in Whittier, California. Together with Frank, they had four children, Nancy, Danny, Susan and Julie. She will be missed deeply by her family and all those who knew her.
Although born in Texas, Emma grew up in Whittier from a young age. She attended school in Whittier, graduating from Sierra High School. Her and Frank raised their family in the east Whittier area. She loved cooking, decorating, gardening and reading, but nothing meant more to her than her family. She was a true homemaker in every sense of the word. Her husband, Frank, recounts her as the anchor of the family in many ways, and her marriage to him lasted into its 50th year as a couple. They made a great team in life. She was a faithful woman in her church, attending St. Brunos Catholic Church for many years, where she worked as a day care teacher.
Emma is survived by her husband, Franklin J. Lopez; children, Nancy Sanchez, Danny Lopez, Susan Lopez and Julie Lopez; grandchildren, Adriana Lopez, Maressa Lopez, Daniel Lopez, Isabella Sanchez and Salena Sanchez; and her siblings, Alex Luna and Betty Paderez.
