Eleanor Gibson Nardini Chandler, of Whittier, passed away peacefully in her sleep March 11, 2010 at the age of 93. She was born April 5, 1916, in Concord, New Hampshire, to Louisa (Gibson) Nardini and Francis D. Nardini. She grew up in Concord and graduated from Concord High School. She was given the honor of 'Republican Woman of the Year' in 1977. She was a 55 year member of PEO, Chapter LX. She was an avid golfer and loved to garden, generously sharing her flowers with others. While Barbara was growing up she was a Girl Scout leader. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 20, at 1:00 pm, at the Whittier First United Methodist Church, 13222 E. Bailey St. Memorial donations may be made to the Nixon Scholarship Fund, UMCOR, or a charity of the donor's choice.
