Eileen Ann Salazar

Eileen Ann Salazar passed away peacefully on Friday, June 8, 2012 in Whittier, California. Born on March 24, 1922, in Baldock, England, Eileen Doris was born to her parents Alexander Joseph & Nellie Pretoria (Hallett) Doris. Her mother was also from Baldock, England, while her father was from Scotland and was a career soldier in the Highland Light Infantry; Eileen's parents and siblings did much travelling as they traveled to various military bases in Ireland, Scotland and India.As a young girl, Eileen worked as a seamstress in Baldock. At the age of 23 she married Mike Salazar, an American Soldier, who was in the Army Air Force. She came to America as a war bride on the Queen Mary in 1946. She came back with her husband Mike to live in Whittier where they lived for over 60 years and raised their 3 children, Michael, Christina & Carolyn. She is survived by her two daughters; Tina Paquette & Carolyn Robledo, and her two grandchildren; Jessica & Alec.A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:15AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Whittier. A Vigil Service will be held the night prior, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 6:30PM at White Emerson Mortuary, Whittier. Interment will immediately follow the Funeral Mass on Friday at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Montebello.
