Edward Bailey White
November 2, 1938 - September 12, 2016
Edward Bailey White, age 78, passed into heaven in Newberg, Oregon on September 12, 2016. Ed was born on November 2, 1938 in Whittier, California to Rowland and Ruthetta (Bailey) White. He attended Whittier High School, Whittier College, and Talbot School of Theology. He was married to Martha Yocum July 1, 1961. Ed was the beloved pastor of many churches including Pico Rivera Friends, Diamond Bar Friends, Denair Friends, and interim pastor for Granada Heights Friends, Berkeley Friends, Fresno Friends, and Phoenix Friends. His example of a godly life and love for God and people had a lasting impact on many lives.
In later years Ed enjoyed the Colorado mountains in their home in the Lost Valley of the San Juans. There he enjoyed doing woodworking in his shop, snowmobiling, ATV rides, fishing, and fellowship with many visitors and neighbors. Ed is survived by his lifetime love and wife of 55 years, Martha; sons, Timothy, Daniel, and Luke; daughters-in-law, Annette and Jennifer; grandchildren, Lindsay, Erin, Tristen, Benjamin and Sydney.
A private family graveside service was held on Tuesday, Sept 20th in Newberg, Oregon. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept 25th at 2:00 pm at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E. Philadelphia St. Whittier, CA 90601. Reception will follow.
