Dr. Godfrey Augustine Muller

Godrey Augustine Muller was born December 16, 1923, in Panama, to Luis Augustine and Marciana (Espino-Castillo) Muller. He passed away sweetly and gentlyjust the way he livedon May 31, 2016, in Whittier, California, at the age of 92.



Godfreys life is a great example of the power of the American Dream. Though he spent his early years in Panama, his family moved to Los Angeles, California, when he was 8 years old. He recognized the value of education and sought to better himself by earning a BS at Pepperdine University and his DDS at USC. That prepared him for a successful orthodontics practice of 48 years.



On December 30, 1950, Godfrey married the love of his life, Maybelle Albright. They made their home in Whittier and were blessed with 10 children. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He also taught them the importance of education, and their lives are blessed because of it.



Dr. Muller was a devout Catholic who was an example to all. He enjoyed reading and studying church doctrine, and he actively served in the church. He was Head Usher at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Whittier for 50 years, and a member of their Bible Study Discussion Group for nearly 60 years. He was also active in professional associations. He served as President of the Latin American Dental Association and Chief of Orthodontics at Queen of Angels Hospital.



Survivors include his children, Jeffrey (Stephanie), Marcie (Robert), Randy (Terri), Celeste, Chris (Tina), Michelle, Kim, Cheryl, and 'adopted' daughter, Karen; 8 grandchildren, Joel, Tamara (Greg), Amanda (Andrew), Alex, Sarah (James), Casey, Chris, and Miranda; 2 great-grandchildren, McKayla and William; and his brother, Sigfried. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Maybelle; and 2 daughters, Terry and Cindy.



The Rosary will be led at 11am on Friday, June 10th, at St. Bruno Church, 15740 Citrustree Rd., Whittier, California. Mass will immediately follow at 11:30am. Interment will take place at Rose Hills Memorial Park, also in Whittier.
