Dale Edward Donnell, 79, passed away on January 26, 2013 in Whittier, California. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois on August 20, 1933, Dale was born to Luther & Berenice (Patterson) Donnell. Dale was the father to two children, Gail & Dale, Jr.
Dale spent his adolescence growing up in Illinois. He entered the United States Navy and served his country proudly as a medic on board a Navy warship. He was a very accomplished and studious person, earning many degrees, including a Law Doctorate from Western State College of Law, Fullerton, California, as well as an Education Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Among Dales many interests, he most loved working with computers, including building them entirely from scratch, and he was an avid reader; his favorite authors were James A. Michener & John Irving.
Dale is survived by his children, Gail Mangan & Dale E. Donnell, II; his grandchildren, Dale E. Donnell, III, Jennifer, Daniel, Dane, Jeremy, Jeremiah and Collette; 11 great-grandchildren; and his dearest partner, Lauretta Lee.
A Military Graveside will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside California.
