Doris Sodersten Klobucar passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born in Waupaca, Wisconsin on March 31, 1926, Doris was born to Gustave & Anna Sodersten. On August 28, 1948 she was married to James J. Klobucar, MD at the St. Mary Magdalene Church in Waupaca, Wisconsin and together they had four children.Doris spent her life growing up in Waupaca. She attended Waupaca High and graduated in 1944. After graduation she moved to Culver City, California to be with her sister. Eventually, she entered trade-school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a Radiology Degree to become an X-ray Technician. In the late 1950s, after marrying James Klobucar, they moved to southern California before settling in Whittier in 1959. Doris stayed at home with their children, while James continued his career as a MD.She was very active throughout her life. Dancing was among her favorite hobbies, including dancing at the Avalon Pavilion at Catalina Island. She enjoyed needle-point, crafting, gardening and Agatha Christie novels. She was very involved in the community, including involvement at: St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Whittier PTA, and ACT 4 (Dr's Wives' Club). Among her other accomplishments, she was also a charter member of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), was a volunteer at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital (earned her '35 Year' pin), and was an original Green Bay Packer's Shareholder since 1950.She is survived by her four children, Pamela (Christopher) Devine; Nancy Klobucar; Peter (Marie) Klobucar; Mary (Marcel) Daguerre, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband James Klobucar.Interment will follow at a later date at the Eveleth City Cemetery, Eveleth, Minnesota where both Doris and James will be interred together.
