Dona Marie Bertsch

Dona Marie Bertsch passed away peacefully at her home in Whittier, California on July 4, 2023, at the age of 82. Dona was born on March 6, 1941 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Ernest and Lois Moore. She grew up in WaKeeney, Kansas before her family moved to Whittier, California in 1956.

She married the love of her life, Roie Bertsch, on August 6, 1960 at St. Bruno Catholic Church. They made their home in Whittier, where they raised two children, Todd and Kim.  

Dona loved golfing, fishing, painting, playing cards and board games, cooking, traveling, gardening and spending time with her friends and family, but her greatest joy in life was truly her grandchildren.  

After retirement, she and Roie moved to St. George, Utah, where they built a gorgeous home, and she enjoyed doing so many of the outdoor activities she loved.  As much as she loved Utah, ultimately, she missed her kids and grandkids too much to be that far away, and they settled back in Whittier.

Dona is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roie Bertsch; children, Todd Bertsch, and Kim Stinson (Gary); sister, Kathy Vig (Virgil) and brother Robert Moore; grandchildren, Tyler Leibert, Kayley Leibert, Brittney Leibert and Allison Bertsch; and great-grandson, Ryder Atkinson.
