Domingo Luna Rangel was born December 20, 1921, in Lynwood, California, to Florencio and Frances (Luna) Rangel. He passed on December 27, 2011, at the age of 90.Domingo grew up in West Covina, California, and at the age of 13 he had to drop out of school to help the family by working on a farm.He joined the United States Navy and served our country honorably as an Aviation Electrician Mate Third Class.Domingo and Lillian Martinez met following his discharge and dated for approximatley 1 1/2 years before their marriage on October 26, 1947 in Los Angeles, California. They have been married for 64 years!Domingo recently celebrated his 90 birthday with his family at Geyser's in Santa Fe Springs, California.Domingo was a life-time member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and proudly carried the American Flag in parades.Though Domingo wasn't able to finish formal schooling, he was a life-long learner. Whenever there was a need to make any home repairs or do gardening, he would go to the local library and check out books on how to make the repairs. Until the last 5 years, Domingo was able to care for all the repair needs of his family. The family refers to him as the 'jack of all trades'.Domingo and Lillian participated in the Seniors Club together for over 30 years.Domingo is survived by his loving wife Lillian; sons: David and Michael, and daughter-in-law, Teresa, along with 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchldren.
